Holiday Market Activation by Chris Pyrate & Friends
Date: Saturday, November 27, 2021
Time: 10am-3pm
Where: Blue Lot (beside Entertainment Sports Arena) on St Elizabeths East Campus at Oak and Sycamore. METRO STOP: Congress Heights - Green Line.
What: On Congress Heights’ Small Business Saturday, Chris Pyrate & Friends will curate a local holiday market featuring 30 DC-based lifestyle vendors and popular food trucks. Congress Heights businesses will also be spotlighted. Flea DC!, playing on the phrase “Flee DC!” is a market concept aiming to reverse the trend of creatives being forced to “flee” the DC area to find success due to gentrification. The market hopes to offer a well-produced, point-of-sale opportunity to local creatives, rivaling opportunities in cities that our creatives “flee” to rivaling opportunities seen in New York and Los Angeles. Accessible to the public.
Who: Chris Pyrate & Friends with Ward 8 and DC-based lifestyle and streetwear brands. Local DJs: DJ 5’9 and DJ LeaLux. Food trucks with a range of food and beverage offerings. Participant list to come.
COVID-19 Safety: Masks are required for the event.
